Abstract
This article presents a Pentahelix model for environmental education in solid waste
management, based on a review of four previous technical studies. The main objective of
this review is to present a Pentahelix model of environmental education from various
perspectives.

The findings indicate that centering the community in the interaction between
academy, the productive sector, government, and social organizations generates more
effective and sustainable solutions. The research uses a documentary analysis methodology
to collect and analyze relevant information on environmental education programs, allowing
the evaluation of the methods used in the reviewed studies.

This model promotes the integration of scientific knowledge with local practices, encourages community participation,
and supports the implementation of innovative strategies. The model emphasizes that
collaboration among key stakeholders is essential for the success of these programs and
for generating economic value in waste management. The Pentahelix approach is presented
as comprehensive and adaptable, capable of addressing environmental challenges in
diverse contexts.
