Despite to great potential of poroelastic materials, the number of dynamic investigations on poroelastic materials is limited., in this article, the influence of humid-thermal environment on bulk wave propagation behavior of sigmoid poroelastic shells resting on sinusoidal elastic foundation is examined. In order to calculate the effective properties of poroelastic shell structure made of titanium and alumina, the improved sigmoid power-law homogenization scheme is employed. Kinetic relations of poroelastic shell structure are developed based on first-order shear deformable theory. Then, Hamilton’s principle has been implemented to obtain the governing equations and harmonic functions are utilized to solve the derived equations.

This analytical paper investigates application of a novel higher-order shear deformable mathematical model for investigating vibrational analysis of a doubly curved shell in which the kinematic relations are extended using the variable-thickness transverse deflection. The Hamiltonian method is extended to derive the governing motions equations in the curvilinear coordinate system. The constitutive relations are extended using the experimental and statistical relations in the literature for a copper matrix including various amount of three-dimensional graphene nanofillers named as graphene origami using hydrogenation process. The analytical results are presented using the mathematical model in order to trace the impact of graphene origami characteristics and geometric parameters of the double-curved shell. The temperature-dependency relations for material properties as well as folding and content are employed for investigating the impact of affecting parameters. The results are presented with and without thickness stretching effect to arrive at a more confidence results.

This analytical paper investigates the impact of initial electric potential as well as graphene origami characteristics on the deformable/foldable behavior of the sandwich double curved shell composed of a graphene origami-reinforced copper core sandwich by intelligent layers at top/bottom as sensor, actuator and energy harvester. The stretched and foldable model is extended for the description of the kinematic and constitutive relations, respectively. The variational-based formulation is extended for the derivation of the governing equations. The solution procedure is extended for the special boundary conditions to seek the impact of multi-field loading and material constituent characteristics on the electro-thermo-folding responses of the sandwich hybrid shell. As a quantitative result, one can arrive at 10% decrease in deflection with 2% addition of graphene origami reinforcement.

The present work investigates stress, strain and deformation analyses of a shear deformable cylindrical shell manufactures by a Copper (Cu) core reinforced with graphene origami auxetic metamaterial subjected to mechanical and thermal loads. The cylindrical models can be used in sport equipment especially in expander component. The effective material properties of the graphene origami auxetic reinforced Cu matrix are developed using micromechanical models cooperate both material properties of graphene and Cu in terms of local temperature, volume fraction and folding degree. The principle of virtual work is used to derive governing equations with accounting thermal loading.

Graphene origami in a copper matrix is used as a composition of core in a sandwich panel between two piezoelectric/piezomagnetic layers. More accurate modeling of the composite sandwich structure is performed using a higher-order model including thickness stretching term. Principle of virtual work is used in order to derive governing equations in terms of resultant components of force and moment as well as electromagnetic loads. The resultant components are derived in higher-order framework with accounting electric and magnetic potentials using the effective material properties of graphene origami in Halpin-Tsai and rule of mixture framework. The deformation/strain/stress components are analytically obtained in terms of thermal, mechanical, electrical, and magnetic loads as well as folding degree and content of graphene origami. Verification is performed for justification of the numerical results. A foldability dependent parametric analysis is presented to show controllability of stress, strain and deformations along the thickness direction.

Poroelastic materials have gained prominence due to their beneficial characteristics, prompting the authors to investigate their behavior in wave propagation. Additionally, the balance beam used in gymnastics is a classic example of a beam structure. It is designed to support the weight of the gymnast while providing stability and strength. This paper focuses on analyzing wave dispersion behavior in a hygrothermally excited poroelastic gymnastics beam. It is considered that the beam is made of a composition of Alumina and Aluminum as ceramic and metallic phases, respectively. Initially, the basic characteristics are determined using an improved power-law homogenization scheme. Subsequently, a poroelastic beam is modeled based on a refined higher-order shear deformation theory, and based on it and Hamilton’s principle, the kinetic relations are obtained. The obtained governing equations are then solved through analytical schemes using harmonic functions, and the outcomes are presented. These results are afterward verified through comprehensive comparisons with existing literature. Furthermore, this paper findings shows that the phase velocity and wave frequency of the beam are influenced by gradient parameters, porosity, and environmental factors like temperature and humidity to gain further insights.

A novel smart analysis of sandwich composite cylindrical shell is presented in this article. It is assumed that the sandwich shell is manufactured from the graphene origami reinforced copper core between two intelligent layers. The proposed structure in this article can be used as an idealized model for cylinder shapes in gymnastic sport and physical therapy units. The virtual work principle in the piezo elasticity framework and the cylindrical coordinate system is extended to derive governing equations. To arrive at more accurate results, a third order shear deformable model is extended for kinematic relations. The electro elastic responses are explored using the analytical method to seek impact of main parameters of the composite structure such as foldability parameter, graphene content percent, and applied electric potential on the electro elastic strain, deformation and stress results.

A novel composite structure composed of graphene origami reinforcement integrated with piezoelectric/piezomagnetic layers is defined in this paper. The Material composition is assumed as steel novel metamaterials. The proposed model can be used as a diving board in swimming. The vibrational-based formulation is extended using an advanced higher-order thickness-stretchable model. The governing motion equations are derived using Hamilton’s principle through the computation of strain and kinetic energies as well as external work. The constitutive relations are extended for the composite core in terms of volume fraction, folding degree, and thermal load using some modifier functions using Halpin-Tsai micromechanical models for modulus of elasticity, Poisson’s ratio, thermal expansion coefficient, and density. The natural frequency responses are derived using the analytical method in terms of characteristics of graphene origami such as thermal load, foldability parameter, and amount of reinforcement. Furthermore, an investigation on the impact of initial electro-magneto-mechanical loads is studied on the responses.

This study aims to develop a novel and efficient magnetic nanocatalyst for producing biodiesel from waste coconut scum oil (WCSO). In this regard, a retrievable and robust nanocatalyst, SnFe2O4/biochar derived from cigarette butts, was synthesized and applied in the transesterification of WCSO under ultrasonication. The aforementioned nanocatalyst was synthesized by sol-gel technique. Various analyses were conducted to characterize the prepared nanocatalyst. These analyses confirmed the successful decoration of biochar on SnFe2O4. The Surface area and pore diameter were 128.47 m2/g and 15.62 nm, respectively. Central composite design (CCD) was applied to optimize the parameters influencing biodiesel synthesis. Moreover, the highest biodiesel yield employing SnFe2O4/cigarette butt-derived biochar nanocatalysts was attained at 98.67 % under optimal conditions, which include a methanol/WCSO ratio of 11.81:1 mol/mol, ultrasonic time of 34.25 min, temperature of 64.05 °C, and a catalyst amount of 2.73 wt%. Besides, SnFe2O4/cigarette butt-derived biochar demonstrated a notable biodiesel yield (90.48 %) even after seven reuse steps, highlighting its exceptional reusability. The thermodynamic and kinetic analyses of transesterification indicate that the synthesis of biodiesel is an endothermic reaction. The SnFe2O4/cigarette butt-derived biochar nanocatalyst stands out as a highly promising candidate for future research due to biodiesel performance, quick reaction time, and remarkable catalyst reusability.
